After some encouragement by a good client and friend of mine, I am attempting to try acrylics. For my first, I decided to go with one of my all time favorites: The Portrait of Mrs. Allan Bott by Tamara de Lempicka (1930), one of the most prominent artists of the Art Deco era. Recently used an an inspiration piece for the 2012 Design Event to benefit Arts of the Albemarle... SOLD!
A reproduction of Tandi Venter's "The Way Home"... Currently on display at Floor 2 Ceiling Designs in Elizabeth City.
"Ucello Colorare Di Blu"... An original piece I did in an afternoon. The bird was intended to be more colorful and realistic... but when I started on the bird, it turned into a more folk-ish, abstract kinda thing, which I really liked. So I went with it...
A study of David Hosking's "Falmouth Estuary". I love this guy's work and had to do a repro, albeit with a few changes! Was on display at Passion, the Restaurant in Chesapeake, VA for a benefit show. Now at Floor 2 Ceiling Designs in Elizabeth City, NC.
"Riposo"... an original acrylic in the style of David Hosking. The picture doesn't represent the colors very well at all. This one was hanging at Passion, the Restaurant and recently SOLD!
"Twenty Steps to the Sea"... one of the original acrylics I had displayed in Passion, the Restaurant that recently SOLD!
"Giardiniere Capannone"... an original acrylic that was displayed at Passion, the Restaurant in Chesapeake, VA. for a charity event. SOLD!
"Liz"... received an Honorable Mention at the Summer Art Show.
